The Gitksan Wet'suwet'en Education Society / First Nations High School Emmisary Web-site is a student driven project dedicated to the 2010 Olympics hosted in Vancouver, BC this February 12th to the 28th.

It is with great joy, fanfare and unity that the First Nations High School undertake this project to celebrate the Olympics. Our mission is to be emissarys of both the Gitxsan nation and Hazelton Region. Many of our articles will feature stories from our youth; reflecting our Gitxsan traditions and Heritage. Here you will also find stories focused on Hazelton and the many beautiful landmarks we enjoy within our territory.

On Saturday January 30, 2010 the Hazelton and Gitxsan People joined together to celebrate the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. Our very own First Nations High School commemorated the event by holding a roadside vigil, lighting candles with heartfelt pride and accord with the Olympic torch.

With an air of laughter and smiles, many community members joined our group, grabbing candles and First Nations High School flags to wave. By the time the torch relay passed, the First Nations High School had a sizeable crowd cheering and saying Hazelton is Hockeyville. Crowd members overheard the Torch relay caravan stating "Whoa, You guys Rock" or "Yeah, Canadians Rock."
